Well, as the title says... this blog is for totally unconnected random stuff. There is no theme to this blog, no specific area I plan to focus on, and no intention to make it particularly serious or funny, real-life or online life. It's just random.
Like... today is cold. It's freezing in my house, and even the cat complains that my hands are too cold. I have to go out and clear away the snow, but I really don't want to. Today is the sort of day that is best spent in bed with a good book and one's favorite junk food (chips, in my case, but alas I'm all out of chips at the moment).
Hm. The cat has now draped herself over my left shoulder, which is making typing a bit difficult. Down, Maddy!
I'm taking some time this weekend to do some surfing around the 'Net, still on the prowl for graphics software. One of the sites I ended up at was http://www.deals4biz.com. Turns out, it's like eBay for small businesses looking for good deals on everything from software to furniture, supplies, appliances, tools, electrical equipment, and even stuff like tractors! However... after surfing around the site some, and finding some really nice prices on Photoshop software, I found that everything I looked at only ships to the U.S. So once again, Canadians looking for a decent deal are left out. Since the exchange rate is now really favorable I don't mind shopping in U.S. funds, but that doesn't help when people just automatically decide that they won't ship to a Canadian address. So even though the site is well-organized and a LOT easier to navigate than regular eBay, I won't be using it. Too bad...
What else is going on today? Oh, yes, I finally got to see an episode of that "Rome" miniseries everybody was talking about a couple of years ago. It showed up on our History Channel. Looks like a good show, but it would help to see it right from the beginning. The guy who played Baron Harkonnen in the Dune miniseries is in it (forget which character he's playing, though).
